Not a common carpentry tool, the shoulder plane is a tool used mostly by fine woodworkers; furniture makers, stair builders and the like.  Our first hand-board, we made this one smooth, clean and elegant. A single concave down the middle with lifted rails in the tail provide superfine control, and will make you feel like master craftsman of the waves.
